Professional Learning Day Plan – October 24th, 2025
The following is a brief description of our planned professional learning work for October 10. This work is organized around our district’s four collective goals:
· All students shall read, write, and communicate at grade level in both languages of instruction.
· All students shall be at grade level in numeracy.
· All students and staff will feel safe, cared for, and engaged in learning.
· All students shall graduate from high school.
School staff will monitor the impact of their work from October 10, and on subsequent professional learning days, in achieving these goals.
Literacy
· Staff will be working collaboratively together to enhance and reflect on current professional practice.
· Teachers will collaborate on real-time assessment practices and strengthen their skills to better support this approach to assessment in the classroom.
· Staff will gain insight into effective AI strategies in their classroom and how they relate to our RTA focus.
Numeracy
· Staff will be working collaboratively together to enhance and reflect on current professional practice.
· Teachers will continue collaboration on real-time numeracy checks into backward design plans to track student understanding and improve the feedback cycle.
· Staff will gain insight into effective AI strategies in their classroom and how they relate to our RTA focus.
Safe, Cared For, and Engaged
· Staff will engage in learning on technological supports that will improve their efficiency in adjusting course materials for students with specific learning goals.
Graduation
· Staff will continue their collaboration on real-time assessment practices as we continue our work to improve attendance and engagement, keeping students on track to graduate.
